Public Availability Session
NYSDEC and National Grid to Discuss Start
of Operable Unit 2 Remediation

Public Availability Session Scheduled
Tuesday, December 6, 2011;


The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) will hold a Public Availability Session from 7 PM to 9 PM on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at M.L. Lindenmeyer School 191 Vermont Avenue Staten Island, NY 10305.

The Availability session will provide project information and respond to
community questions about the remediation of Operable Unit 2 of the former Manufactured Gas Plant site located at 25 Willow Avenue in Staten Island. The session will provide information on the major phase of Site remediation work which is scheduled to begin in December, and which will include excavation of contaminated soil, building of a slurry wall, installation of extraction wells and construction of an engineered cap. A Fact Sheet describing the construction project has been mailed to neighbors of the Site and is available on the website.

Copies of the Remedial Action Plan for this Operable Unit, the Final Remedial Investigation Report and Reports on the remediation of the Site’s Operable Unit 1 (40 Willow Avenue) are available for public review prior to the meeting on the website – www.cliftonmgpsite.com – and at Document Repositories located at:
